"Helpful, when it decides to be accurate"
I mostly use Fishbrain to check the weather and water temps before heading out. It’s definitely helpful, though sometimes the info feels a little off or shows up late, which is super convenient when you’re trying to plan a trip. I still use it, because it’s useful enough, but I wouldn’t exactly bet my whole day on it being 100% right.

"Forecasts are honestly hit or miss"
I really wanted to like Fishbrain, but the forecasts in my area have been all over the place. There were days it said the bite would be great, and I went out and got absolutely nothing, which is kind of ridiculous. The app itself is fine, but I wouldn’t put too much trust in the fishing predictions.

"Species ID is kinda hit or miss"
I tried using it to ID my catch, but it got it wrong twice, even though the photos were clear. The app itself is fine overall, but the species ID feature definitely needs some work.

"Clear pricing, no weird surprises"
I’m giving Fishbrain 5 stars mainly because the pricing was actually clear from the start. I could see what I was paying for before signing up, and I didn’t get that sketchy feeling like something was being slipped in.

I’ve used other fishing apps where you have to click around forever before the price finally shows up, which is unnecessary. This one felt a lot more straightforward, and I appreciated that.

The cancel info was easy to find too, which matters more than people think. It’s a simple thing, but it made the app feel more trustworthy to me.

"Maps just haven’t been reliable for me"
I mainly got fishbrain for the maps, but I’ve had too many times where the spots or water access info didn’t match what was actually there. It’ll show a path or access point that I couldn’t find at all, and some of the lake info feels outdated, if that makes sense. I ended up wasting a couple trips because I trusted it. Maybe it’s better in other areas, but where I fish, the map accuracy just doesn’t feel worth paying for.

"Surprisingly solid fishing tips"
This was useful. It pointed me toward some good fishing spots and had a few tips that actually made sense. Not saying the locals are hiding all the best places on purpose... but after reading this, it kind of feels like someone finally leaked a little insider info.

"Account changes were easy from what I remember"
I had to update a few account details on fishbrain.com, and from what I remember it was painless. Logging in worked without any hassle, the settings weren’t buried, and I was able to change what I needed quickly. I’ve definitely used apps where account stuff feels way more annoying, so this was a nice change.

"Useful app, but the slowdowns are frustrating"
I do like the app overall, and when it’s working smoothly it’s actually really helpful. But on my phone it slows down way too often. The map freezes sometimes, and loading catches can take forever, which gets annoying fast. What bothers me too is how these kinds of performance issues seem to slip through policy loopholes, like the app technically works so nothing really gets addressed. It’s not a terrible app by any means, but it definitely needs better performance and more accountability

"Super handy for keeping track of catches"
This app just makes logging catches feel simple instead of annoying. I can quickly save what I caught and check my spots again later, which is exactly what I need on a fishing trip. I use it pretty much every time I go out now.

"Works fine, just a bit clunky"
The app does what it’s supposed to do, so I can’t really complain too much, but yeah, it feels kind of clunky sometimes. Like I’ll be using it and it technically works, but I have to think a little more than I want to, if that makes sense. Not terrible, just a bit awkward here and there

"Premium actually ends up being worth it"
I wasn’t sure I’d need Premium at first, but it helped me find more spots quickly, it basically paid for itself faster than I expected

"Sorta didn’t do much for me"
I used it for the whole month it sorta didn’t help me catch anything. I was hoping for better results, but I basically ended up with nothing.

"Pretty decent app, but I’m not always sure what to trust"
I use fishbrain often to check out fishing spots and see what people are catching nearby. It’s useful overall, and some of the posts seem legit, but every now and then I’ll see a catch that feels a little questionable, like it’s an old photo or there aren’t many details. Still a decent app to have, I just wish there was a better way to verify what’s actually real.

"Nice control over my fishing spots"
I’ve been using fishbrain for a bit and I appreciate that I can decide what I want to share and what I’d rather keep private. Not having my catches show the exact spot is a big deal for me, since I don’t really want every little honey hole out there.

The location settings were easy to find and change too, which was nice. Makes the app way more comfortable to use when I’m not woried that every place I fish is being shown to everyone

"GPS is useful, but the accuracy needs attention"
I use fishbrain regularly to save my fishing spots and keep track of where I’ve caught fish, and for the most part the GPS does what I need. That said, it can be frustrating when it drops the pin a little ways from where I actually was, especially around lakes where the signal isn’t great.
The location tracking is decent overall, but it’s not consistent enough for something I rely on to log my spots. I’ve tried correcting a few locations manually, and it feels clunkier than it should. At this point I’d really like to see the issue taken more seriously and improved, because it’s one of the main reasons I use the app...

"Super reliable every time I’m out"
It’s just been great to use. The spots and forecasts pop up right when I need them, and everything works smoothly without me having to mess around

"Spot info just wasn’t reliable"
I tried using Fishbrain to find some new fishing spots, but most of the info I found was either outdated or just plain wrong. A couple spots showed activity, but when I got there they had no access or turned out to be private property. Frustrating after wasting time driving around. If the spot info doesn’t get more reliable, I’ll probably cancel and look for a different app because it doesn’t feel worth paying for right now...

I reached out to support and they got back to me quickly. For what I needed, the help was fast enough and got the issue sorted without much hassle...

"Decent app, but the reminders are pushy"
Fishbrain is good overall, and I do like getting alerts when there’s fishing activity nearby. But the notifications get a little out of hand. Some of the reminders feel way too aggressive, like the app keeps nudging me for stuff I don’t really care about. I ended up turning a bunch of them off. It’s not a bad app, I just wish there were better controls so it didn’t feel so spammy.

"Easy to share my catches"
Well... it makes sharing my catches with friends really simple, and they can see them without any hassle...
